Ryan's Early 20th Birthday

On the 14th we decided to celebrate my birthday because Ashley was going to be gone to Colorado the actual day of my birthday. For my birthday, we decided to go horseback riding at "Western Trails Riding Stables"(Ashley through Joshua rode horses).
the place turned out to be a "home business"

the minors had to wear helmets when on horseback

Mom adjusts the length of  Nathanael's helmet

Joshua could not get his helmet to sit "just right"

Evangeline was very exited to see horses
Ready to ride!

the horses were kept in the back yard

The horses were beautiful.

Isaiah riding through the city

The horses had been trained to walk in a line.

The ride was a 90 minute trip, 20 min. city, 70 min. dirt trail.

The trail was very beautiful.

Nathanael on this horse

Daniel had a particularly stubborn horse, it kept stopping suddenly.

Isaiah looked like a natural

the ride was good and we all loved it.

They even let Timothy and Evangeline ride around the stables.

Evangeline was so exited

She loved riding the horse

Joshua took a picture with his horse

After the ride, we went to a nearby park.

Isaiah playing tag on the toys

"Run Evangeline, Run!"

Ashley, helping prepare diner
For diner we had country fried steak, mash potatoes, green beans, and asparagus.

The country fried steak was store bought.

The kids dressed up...

And some of the adults. ;)

Some of  the restaurant staff

The dinner was served with apple cider

Dinner was delicious!

Then we played "musical chairs" (Dad was being silly)

And then we did "Walk Across the Yard Blind, Then Run Across the Yard And Find the Swedish Fish in the Whipped Cream, Then Stumble Back the Way You Came!".

Dad was the champ at this game.
Daniel and Isaiah giving it a try

Daniel got a little off course

Go Evangeline, go Timothy!

She's in the lead!

Dad and Mom go for the "gold"!
Meanwhile, some of the kids decided Dad was too good at this game, so they replaced the whipped cream, that concealed the fish, with country gravy!

Dad: "Yuck, what was that?!"
We finished the activities with a hoedown.

Then we went back to the table for some pumpkin pie.

It was good
