Opa And Natey's Birthday!

What a nice time we all had celebrating Opa and Natey's birthday's on Saturday! Seems like not so long ago we were celebrating their birthdays last year. How true it is when the God's Word reminds us that our life is like the grass.
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:  But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Peter 1:24-25

We enjoyed a delicious meal selected for us by our Opa himself. He himself, is a very good cook and somewhere we have a video of him showing us how to make fried rice.

There they are "The Birthday Buddies"

Here is Hannah enjoying her food. She had shrimp, beef and fried rice...

She also enjoyed the peas...
"more peas":)
and the noodles...

broccoli beef...

Opa and his youngest granddaughter Hannah; they have the same initials and nickname "Hanny"

Trying to get a kiss...

"Happy Birthday to YOU...
Happy Birthday to YOU...
Blowing out their candle on a shared piece of cake...
Natey being silly...

Aunt Diane brought cupcakes for us all.

They were really yummy and not too sweet...
This is a banana split cupcake...

The tradition is to serve sliced oranges after dinner- very smart!

It took four tables to seat us all...

There is cousin Chris who we don't get to see often...

uncle Kevin being camera shy...

Oma, Aunt Diane, Uncle Kevin and Cousin Robert...

Timmy, Isaiah, Evie and Dad...
Wonder what produced that expression...

So sweet...

This was the far end of the table..

Big hug..

and a couple kisses from some pretty ladies...

There is Oma enjoying little Hanny as well...

She is such a precious gift, just like Opa and Natey!

That's our Opa!

What a blessing to have our Opa. As the verses from the beginning remind us, that life passes so very quickly.
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Peter 24-25
What is that gospel? God the Father sent His beloved son into the world in human flesh, for the purpose of dying for our sins on the cross. And the death of the Lord Jesus Christ paid for every one of our sins: past, present and future. If we will receive Him as our Savior and Lord we are forgiven the debt of our sin! Then, he rose from the dead to prove He had conquered the last enemy- death. He went there first, (into death) ahead of us to show us (that we didn't need to be afraid of it anymore.) When Jesus Christ rose from the dead, He went back to the Father, but not before He promised to come again and take us to Heaven where we will live forever with Him. That is every believers blessed hope who trusts Christ for salvation. Our family's hope is that we can all be together forever with God in heaven.

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
                                                                               1 Corinthians 15: 22-26
